Focus on creating, not printing
Often, Graphic Designers handle a diverse range of projects to be carried out within a set time frame and on budget, in a highly competitive and pressurised marketplace. The printing needs for this sector typically require ease of use with graphic software applications, image quality, Mac compatibility, colour accuracy and management, media flexibility, fast turnaround, low-risk investment and low cost per copy
Designjet functionality allows costs to be easily tracked, offers online proofing, strong visual imagery and fast turnaround, and have been designed to assist with many different printing applications including: printing project bids, concept development, visual presentation, design competitions, design mock ups, final presentations, digital concept proofing and posters

Which Designjet printers are most popular within the Graphic Design sector?
The most popular Designjet printers selected by the Graphic Design industry are the T120, Z2100, Z3200, Z5200ps, Z5400 and Z6200. The entry level T120 with its flexible Wi-Fi capability enables the user to print from virtually anywhere (printing from A4 up to A1 size). This is ideal for students and those who want to simply print photos or posters, but who also need a small footprint.
However the majority move towards the Graphic Arts ‘Z’ series Designjets, in order to expand the possibilities of Graphic Design where these printers offer indoor/outdoor printing with UV stabilised and waterproof inks. Colour is of paramount importance so these printers also have embedded spectrophotometers and increased colour applications.
The Z2100 and Z3200 are the two most popular models; The Z2100 is the entry level printer chosen for its price and increased capabilities over the Technical printers, while the Z3200 is chosen for it’s increased capabilities over the Z2100 without significant differentials in price. The 8 ink Z5200ps also has its own unique place in the market as a high output, production printer and 160GB hard disk, while the 6 ink Z5400 is the ideal device for copy shops and the Z6200 represents the world’s fastest large format photo printer which can print at speeds of up to 140m2/hr
