Shortened project cycles, reduced costs and tightened turn-arounds fuels in-house printing

The UK manufacturing sector is increasingly suffering from cost pressures combined with current weak demand from the already crisis-hit Eurozone which has culminated in the scaling back of production and finding new, innovative ways to streamline processes and reduce business costs. Printing is one area where there are still significant savings to be made and an area that often gets overlooked. Manufacturers are moving more towards in-house printing to maintain a competitive and cost effective edge, reducing costs and generating a quicker turnaround with greater flexibility.

HP Designjets offer built-in efficiencies that will allow you to achieve more in less time. With an uninterrupted workflow, project cycles are shortened and turn-around times tightened, ultimately leading to satisfied customers and repeat business

Which Designjet printers are most popular within the Manufacturing sector?

The most popular Designjet printers selected by Manufacturers are the T520, T790ps, T1300ps and T2300ps. Moving quickly through them, the networked T520 is the entry level printer where postscript capabilities are not required but networking to a small team is, the T790ps is selected for it’s faster speed (many opt for the postscript version); while its’ built-in networking capabilities also makes it ideal for small to medium work groups, the T1530 is assigned for busy workgroups benefitting from using a dual roll feed with auto switching capability (offering greater time savings and work efficiency) and the T2530 eMFP for it’s dual print and scan facility.  However as with all things, some Manufacturers have wider business application requirements, requiring both indoor/outdoor printing or colour matching which moves towards UV stabilised and Waterproof inks together with fine photo quality output. This then sets the tone for a Graphic Arts printer where the Z2100 and Z3200 are the two most popular models (Z2100 as the entry level printer due to its cost, with the Z3200 in first place for it’s increased capabilities over the Z2100 without significant difference in price).
